Get in touch
The fastest way to reach us is by email at [email protected].
We aim to reply within two working days (New Zealand time). TermSmith is built and supported by a small independent team, so please be patient during weekends, school holidays, and public holidays.
When you write in, it helps us if you include:
- Your device model (for example, iPhone 15 Pro)
- Your iOS version (Settings → General → About)
- The TermSmith version (shown in the app on the Premium screen)
- A short description of what you were doing when the issue happened
Frequently asked questions
How do I subscribe to TermSmith Pro?
Open the app, tap any locked feature or the star icon on the Home screen, then tap Start Annual Plan on the Premium screen. Apple will show the purchase sheet and charge your Apple ID. Your subscription unlocks immediately after purchase.
How much does TermSmith Pro cost?
TermSmith Pro is NZ$14.99 per year. New subscribers can get an introductory price of NZ$9.99 for the first year, available until 31 August 2026. After that the standard annual price applies. Prices in other regions are set automatically by Apple.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed entirely by Apple. To cancel:
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions
- Tap TermSmith Pro
- Tap Cancel Subscription
You will keep Pro features until the end of the period you have already paid for. We never see your card details and cannot cancel a subscription on your behalf.
How do I restore purchases on a new device?
Sign in to your new device with the same Apple ID you used to subscribe. Open TermSmith, go to the Premium screen, and tap Restore Purchases. Your Pro entitlement will be reactivated.
Does TermSmith work offline?
Yes. Once installed, TermSmith works without an internet connection for almost everything, including flashcards, definition matching, fill the gap, word parts, audio pronunciations, spaced repetition, and your progress dashboard.
The two AI-powered modes (Use in a Sentence and Command Words) do require a connection, because the marking happens on our server.
Why is AI marking not working?
AI marking needs a working internet connection. If you see an error or the marking does not appear, check that:
- Your device has Wi-Fi or mobile data
- You have not exceeded your daily AI check limit (3 per day on the free tier, 20 sentence and 10 command word checks per day on Pro)
- You are running the latest version of TermSmith
If marking still does not work, email us with a description of what happened and we will investigate.
Is there a free version of TermSmith?
Yes. The free tier gives you full access to NCEA Psychology vocabulary and the core study modes, with banner ads and a daily limit on AI marking. Pro removes the ads, raises the AI limits, and unlocks all subjects as they are released.
Can I share TermSmith Pro with my family?
Yes. TermSmith Pro supports Apple Family Sharing. Up to five family members in your Family Sharing group can access Pro from a single subscription. Set this up in iPhone Settings under your Apple ID.
How do I delete my data?
TermSmith stores all your learning progress locally on your device. To delete it, simply uninstall the app. We do not keep a copy on any server. See our Privacy Policy for more detail.
What devices does TermSmith support?
TermSmith runs on iPhone and iPad. We currently support iOS and iPadOS 16 and later. An Android version is being explored for a future release.
